Welcome to Landing Cottage Guest House.

Landing Cottage is located on the south western tip of Lake Windermere and was built in 1875 of Lakeland stone and has now been extended to offer comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation for travellers who prefer a quiet location

All our rooms have been tastefully colour co-ordinated and have their own character and charm, offering en suite or standard accommodation with double or family rooms available. In addition each room offers complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. .


After a day of exploring the delights of the Lake District residents can relax in the comfort of the TV lounge with its feature Lakeland stone fireplace and wood burning stove.

Landing Cottage is surrounded by mature gardens with a patio where residents can enjoy the peace and quiet of the tranquil surroundings.

In the morning you can start the day with our highly acclaimed cooked breakfast served in the comfort of the dining room.

Lakeside is set in the gentle wooded fells of South Lakeland and is an ideal base for visiting all of the southern and western lakes along with the coastal areas of Morecombe Bay. Landing Cottage is situated only 100 metres from lake Windermere, the longest lake in England, being ten and a half miles in length. Lakeside is the starting point for the Windermere Lake Cruise to Bowness and Ambleside.

Lakeside station is the end of the line for the Lakeside and Haverthwaite standard gauge steam railway. This pleasure steam train will carry you along the three and a half miles picturesque route through the valley of the River Leven.

Maybe you would like to visit Britain's award winning aquarium featuring the UK's largest collection of fresh water fish as well as mischievous otters and diving ducks again located only 100 metres from landing Cottage.

 

Leaving Junction 36 of the M6 follow A592 (Windermere) take 1st exit and follow A590 signposted Newby Bridge. At 1st roundabout take 2nd exit. At 2nd roundabout carry straight on and take 1st right. Go over bridge and past The Swan Hotel. Follow road AA signposted "Aquarium of the Lakes" for approx. one mile. Landing Cottage located on the left hand side.
